Hanne Boel to appear at Mario Biondi concerts in spring.

Hanne Boel appeared at a couple of Mario Biondi concerts at Ronnie Scott's in London during the previous couple of weeks. The Italian press has been very generous in their reviews of Hanne, Mario Biondi and the orchestra. "La Stampa", for instance, describes the duet between Mario and Hanne, whom they name "the Danish queen", as a "little masterpiece". "Ansamed" are equally positive in their review, while praising both Hanne, Mario, the orchestra and the venue.

Extraordinary concert at Stockholms Koncerthus

Hanne Boel is playing an extraordinary concert at Stockholms Koncerthus, Friday the 20th of January, as Gino Vannelli unfortunately has had to cancel his show due to illness. Hanne Boel has been brought in as replacement, as Stockholms Koncerthus have strongly wished to let the show go on. Hanne Boel is performing as part of a quartet, consisting of Jakob Karlzon on piano, Morten Ramsbøll on double bass and Morten Lund on drums.

The 15th of November, 2011, Mario Biondi new album "Due - The Unexpected Glimpses" was released in Italy and several other countries. The release includes the duet between Hanne Boel and Mario Biondi, "Funny How Time Slips Away". The duet was equally released on Hanne Boel's latest album "The Shining of Things" from 2011. In relation to the release, Hanne Boel appeared on the Swiss radio station, Retetre Lugano, to perform the duet together with Mario Biondi.

Hanne Boel stars as guest singer in Verona, the 18th September 2011, in occasion of Mario Biondi's concert in the ancient Arena of Verona. Earlier this year, Mario Biondi starred as guest singer during Hanne Boel's concert in "Den Sorte Diamant" in Copenhagen, and they are now repeating the success in an exclusive concert in the Arena of Verona. The two concerts are a result of Hanne Boel's co-operation with Italian jazz singer, Mario Biondi, which can be heard both on Hanne Boel's latest release "The Shining of Things", as well as Mario Biondi's soon-to-be released record.

In 1988 - following a few years of extensive touring with the funk band Blast - Hanne Boel turned towards soul-affiliated music. With Black Wolf, the first of 14 solo releases, her career skyrocketed, propelling her to the top of Scandinavian charts again and again. However, in 1987, shortly before this success story began, she had a short flirt with jazz on SHADOW OF LOVE with Jørgen Emborg, Mads Vinding and Alex Riel. The record was released on the budding label Stunt Records and over the years, despite a reclusive life in the shadows, the album sold gold.
